Speaking on Beauty......

Speaking on Beauty......
This photograph was taken of Joel Meyerowitz this summer at a photography workshop at Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill.
He has given me inspiration in my life and in my photography. With fifty years experience he speaks with a zen-like practice about his photography and how he photographs what calls to him.
In this photo he discusses inner beauty and the feeling it takes to find that closeness from within…..
So, this is what you get when you believe in yourself.
I’ve traveled long about this country and suffered great financially to follow through on my goals. It comes down to the last few believers when you tell them, or rather even try to explain to them that you are searching and working towards a Higher Power and that the only way you can do this is through Photography.
Many people admire you and even wish to themselves that they had your sense of purpose. But when it comes down to it, how many of them really have what it takes to follow through?
My heart has been crushed by recent events, but they have also encouraged me to once again believe in My Self….only because no one else will.
So, what I’ve got from all this is exceptance into Graduate School at the Fine Art Work Center in Provincetown and being represented by a Male Nude art gallery in Provincetown. I still don’t have any money yet…but I know that if I believe in myself it will come.
This one goes out to the Ballard of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest and how he quickly pulled out a roll of tens!
So, this is where I start Blogging- about my personal experiences as a Photographer. I am sure one day, somebody that knows me will be reading this. It has been very unfortunate for me in the past five years, trying to become a photographer, that can maintain a sustainable way of life. I’m yet to make a living from photography and one would not think twice of letting go of a process that isn’t working. Yet, I am told to stick with it! And am convinced that the only way to success is to persevere.
But for me, my whole life has been considered in the terms as “whats meant to be” -which as we know, is just a simple anomaly. Who really cares for the Artist’s way of life? All it seems to be is a romantic, self absorbed extension from what is real and c0-existing for everyone else. It’s not that the Artist is looking for sympathy, but if he is to be considered an artist, he must be able to present himself in such a way that separates himself from the norm, and therefore is able to experience a sensitivity that is above the rest.
All my life things have been different for me. And in all my life people close to me have been trying to explain why. This is the greatest weakness and is the reason that I am not successful now. People who love you try to make sense of things that are out of their control and try to justify the meaning of love in the existence of Nature.
They like to use God or Life’s Path of destiny and these are the strong holds that do not free us from existance, but tie us to preconcieved notions of expectations. I only hope that I will be free from these bounds soon. And so, I’ve begun my Blog!
